This November the UN COP26 climate conference will be in Glasgow. It will take place during a year of climate disaster and marks a quarter century of failure by mainstream politics to deal with the environmental crisis.

Tension has been rising between the states of the region over the search for natural gas in the Eastern Mediterranean and plans to build a pipeline to carry this gas to Europe.

The pipeline agreement signed by Israel, Cyprus and Greece has been supported by Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and France. The issue of sovereignty over the seas, and the maritime boundary treaties between Turkey-Libya and between Egypt-Greece are raising tensions and giving rise to the danger of military conflict in the area.

Imperialist powers such as the USA, the EU with France and Germany at the forefront have started playing diplomacy in an attempt to produce a “solution” both to the conflicts in the region and to the war in Libya.

Depuis des années, voire des dizaines d’années, nous avons dénoncé le blocus imposé par les autorités des États-Unis contre Cuba. Nous avons dénoncé et nous continuons à dénoncer les différentes politiques et mesures adoptées depuis 1959-1960 par Washington pour isoler, déstabiliser et agresser Cuba. Nous sommes très préoccupés par l’arrestation, lors d’une marche de protestation à La Havane le 11 juillet 2021, de Frank Garcia Hernandez, historien et marxiste cubain, Leonardo Romero Negrin, jeune étudiant socialiste en physique à l’université de La Havane, Maykel Gonzalez Vivero, directeur de Tremenda Nota et Marcos Antonio Perez Fernandez, étudiant pré-universitaire. Frank Garcia Hernandez est un chercheur important qui a acquis une réputation mondiale pour son travail de réévaluation de l’histoire de la gauche cubaine et l’organisation d’un congrès international sur Trotsky à La Havane en 2019.
